The City Council held a closed session to consider the purchase of 1.25 acres of property at 17422 Murphy Street.

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District gave a presentation about treatment methods. Many community speakers spoke in opposition to the use of any chemicals in the fight against mosquitos.

Choi: $2,000 to the OC Korean Cultural Center for the 7th Annual Irvine Korean Cultural Festival
Update and discussion of Southern California Veterans Cemetery. As requested by Councilwoman Shea, the City Council discussed the proposed Veterans Cemetery and considered a land swap proposed by Bill Cook, Chairman of the OCVMPF. (See feature article, pg. 1)
3-1 vote in favor of Councilwoman Krom’s motion to reject the proposal from veterans and to re-affirm the current location.
