First things first: thank you to our readers
We think Irvine is a city on the rise. How to rise? How far to rise? Good answers to these questions require clear-eyed appraisals of situations, circumstances and participants. We founded the Irvine City News to provide those appraisals and to promote social connectedness within the city.
We’ve printed a few of the responses from readers to our first edition on page 10. Strong themes in those and other responses are support and appreciation for our efforts to provide Irvine with an unbiased, family-friendly source of Irvine-centric news.
As a newspaper, we want nothing more than your engagement with us. Please keep writing to us!
My family and yours live in a great city in a great country. At the national level, our degrees of freedom and material prosperity are the envy of the world. At the city level, the same is true, only more so. We live in one of the safest cities in America with a median income nearly twice the national median, and we enjoy an incredible diversity of goods, services and activities.
We are grateful for our good fortune, and hope to improve it. We are grateful that you read the Irvine City News. Without you reading and engaging, commenting, participating, and patronizing our advertisers, it wouldn’t be worth it.
So thank you for reading and supporting your community, and your new local newspaper.
