Over 1,000 Community Members Embrace the Rain at the Inaugural STEAM Carnival
Although some people thought the potential of inclement weather would dampen enthusiasm for the outdoor event, others viewed the rain on the day of our STEAM Carnival as another way to experience the wonders of science. More than 1,000 guests turned out on July 18 for a day of fun, hands-on games and activities in a carnival atmosphere at The Market Place. Every activity – such as human foosball, 3-D printing, LEGO robotics, virtual realities and Minecraft – was designed to spark students’ interests in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). The STEAM Carnival raised over $27,000 to benefit our schools. You can view photos from the event here on our Facebook page – please tag yourself if you’re part of our photo gallery! IPSF would also like to express our greatest appreciation to the STEAM Carnival sponsors, including The Market Place, Waste Management and more than 30 other local businesses and partners.
