UC Irvine star outfielder Keston Hiura has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association’s All-West Region second team.

The freshman Anteater had a standout year with multiple top honors, including recognition as the Big West Freshman of the Year. He was a two-time Big West Player of the Week and has been tabbed an All-American by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

One of just two freshman named to the West Region squad, Keston Hiura led the conference with 52 RBI and 118 total bases and ranked second with 75 hits. Hiura was also fifth in slugging (.520), seventh in batting (.342), eighth in runs scored (40) and third in doubles (18).

The American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. With more than 6,600 members, the ABCA represents all 50 states and 23 countries.
